Our Philosophy

Forest Friends was created from a simple belief:

children thrive when they are given time, space, and trust to explore the world around them.

We follow a nature-based, child-led approach that blends outdoor play, seasonal rhythms, and gentle guidance. Instead of rushing from activity to activity, we slow down.. allowing children to immerse themselves in the moment, build resilience, and form a meaningful relationship with nature.

What Makes Us Different:
    •    Small group sizes for deep connection
    •    Outdoor, sensory-rich experiences
    •    Seasonal and nature-inspired activities
    •    Gentle structure with room for imagination
    •    Rooted in holistic, heart-centered care

Our Ways

What to expect

OUR APPROACH

WHAT WE DO

WHAT TO EXPECT

Child-Led, Nature-Guided

We follow the child’s curiosity—whether that’s watching ants for 20 minutes or building a stick fort from scratch.

Seasonal Living

Each week reflects what’s happening in nature—from spring flowers to fall leaves to snow play in winter.

Hands-On Learning

We learn by doing: touching, building, collecting, mixing, observing.

Emotional Safety First

Children are supported through big feelings with patience and respect. We model kindness, boundaries, and communication.

Each class is a blend of structure and freedom, designed to feel both grounding and magical.

Activities may include:

  • Nature walks + exploration

  • Seasonal crafts

  • Water + sensory play

  • Simple herbal activities (age-appropriate)

  • Building with natural materials

  • Storytelling + songs

  • Free imaginative play

  • They may get dirty—and that’s part of the magic

  • They’ll build confidence and independence

  • They’ll learn to connect with nature and their body

  • They’ll form friendships in a calm, supportive environment

For You:

  • Clear communication and updates

  • A safe, nurturing space for your child

  • A slower, more intentional alternative to traditional programs
